BackOFSTED Report - March 2026
Posted on: 11th May
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am very proud to share with you the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection and to confirm that Brentwood County High School has received a very positive report across all areas of the school.
The report recognises the strong progress the school has made in a relatively short period of time and reflects the culture, ambition and care that we have worked hard to build together as a community.
In particular, we are especially proud that Ofsted identified Inclusion as a “Strong Standard”, describing it as “a notable strength” of the school. Inspectors also recognised the calm and purposeful atmosphere around the school, the strength of pastoral care, improving teaching and achievement, and the positive relationships between staff and students.
Parents may also be aware that this inspection was carried out under Ofsted’s new inspection framework, which uses a completely revised grading system. Under this framework, “Expected Standard” broadly reflects what would previously have been considered a strong “Good” judgement, whilst “Strong Standard” is comparable to the previous “Outstanding” judgement.
What makes this report especially meaningful is the journey behind it. Our staff, students, governors, Trust and wider community have worked tirelessly to move the school forward and this report reflects the collective effort, resilience and ambition of everyone involved.
While we are proud of this milestone, we also know that our journey continues. Our vision remains clear: to become the school of choice for our local community by providing the children of Brentwood with the high-quality education, opportunities and support they deserve. This report gives us great confidence for the future and real momentum as we continue that journey together.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership.
Kind regards,
Mr S. Bonnar
Headteacher
